One Person

Can one person be there for you every time
You need them?
Can they love you with all they have
And yet still punish you for doing bad?
Can they spend countless nights tending to you
To only free you in the end?
Can one person make you laugh one minute
And cry the next?
Can they make you believe in yourself
And yet show your faults at the same time?
Can they give you the world
Then take it back
Can one person help you on your way
Yet leave you on your own?
Can they teach you the difference between right and wrong
Only to leave the decision to you?
Can one person do all of this?
I believe they can
After all…
Mother is the name of God on the lips and hearts of all children.
