Prologue

There is a legend that has circled the globe many a time; a legend that speaks of a forest of magical healing and its keeper. Many hold that the Forest and Keeper can cure anyone who steps amongst the gold and silver trees, even if they are upon Death’s bed.

It is said that both forest and Keeper are as old as the ancient seas. Some believe that they may even have seen the birth of the world. Others declare that the Keeper created the world. A few say that the Forest itself created both the Keeper and the world. And little believed rumor has it that the Forest is home to the Sphere, the source of all the magic in the world, which created both Forest and Keeper.

Whatever the tale, all beliefs agree upon one thing. The Keeper and Forest are eternally linked through more then just duty. If a tree is chopped without due cause or an animal is killed out of cruelty rather than necessity, the Keeper feels the pain and tears of the Forest. And legend has it that if the Keeper is to ever perish from the earth’s surface, then the Forest and its healing magic will be lost forever.
