Chemistry Blows

This was written for a Writing.com 69 word contest which I got 2nd place for. The piece is actually from an old story called Majick.

@}------

"A drop of this."

"A drizzle of that."

"A pinch of this."

The second the white powder dusted the top of the mixture an explosion rocked the laboratory.

A blackened hand pulled an equally filthy body up behind the table. A charcoal streaked face turned slowly as hazel eyes surveyed the room through grime-filmed glasses that lay crooked across a nose. A cloud of smoke escaped thin lips.

"Oops."
